Sincere condolences to her Dad Frank, brother Michael & sister Lucy, and all her extended family. Ciara had a very engaging and friendly personality, and she took a real interest in our health and wellbeing. She will be very sadly missed.

Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things in our lives. I am grateful for every moment I crossed paths with Ciara, but I am so shattered by the sudden and untimely loss of a dear friend. When I remember Ciara, I am reminded of the lovely, bright, happy person who cheered life, friendship, hard work, and her great family. She wanted to make a difference in people's lives, and we are all richer to have known her. It is an irreplaceable loss for so, so many. For Ciara's family, please know you are not alone in your sadness, but I hope you can find comfort in great memories. "What is lovely never dies, But passes into other loveliness."

I am so sorry to hear that Ciara has passed away. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. I worked with Ciara over the years on various international committees. We have lost a dedicated and caring colleague who held fast to science. She was always willing to help out -often times the first and sometimes only person to step up and volunteer. She was generous with sharing her knowledge with all of us. She was a good leader as well and I admired her skills in navigating so many personalities so easily. And I remember many laughs, happy lunches and good shopping tips. Her loss will be felt profoundly in the international emergency preparedness community.

So shocked to see the message at the end of Eco Eye about Dr. Ciara. Her clear subject matter expertise was putting us all at ease and she was charming.

It is so sad and terrible that Ciara has passed away, We have lost a good friend, dedicated scientist, and steadfast colleague. She was always generous in sharing her knowledge and experience for the benefit of the international emergency preparedness community. I will remember her fondly as a wonderful leader and it was a privilege to have known her. My sympathies are with Ciara's family and all her friends during this difficult time.

Ciara was for years an efficient, very kind and much appreciated member of the Working Group 3 (transparency) of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG), where I represent the European Commission.
I was deeply saddened by the unexpected news of her passing. She will be missed and remembered.

Through the decades I found her to be a kind, thoughtful, humble and generous person. Her life was cut short at a time when it had so much promise. I was privileged to know her.
