Dear Romy, Andrew, Sarah-Jane, Jennifer and Joseph,
I'm so sorry to learn of David's death. He was a wonderful, kind neighbour to us at No. 30 Zion Road. I remember the first day that we moved in so vividly as if it were yesterday. He appeared on the doorstep with a bottle of Jameson's in hand, welcomed us to the neighbourhood and then, perched on packing cases we had great craic sipping whisky. I loved his sense of humour and his eyes that twinkled with mischief. We had lots of lovely parties at No. 32 and I have so many happy memories. Thank you. May he rest in eternal peace following a life well lived. A true gentlemen and exemplar to us all.

Our sympathies to Romy and all the family on the death of this lovely man. In 1980, he had the task of taking an aimless young doctor into Baggot Street Hospital , and imbuing in him the Art and Science of Anaesthesia.
