Dr. Diarmuid Harte

I was saddened to hear the news of the passing of Diarmuid. I never had the pleasure of meeting or corresponding with him. I recently knew of our family connection and had reached out to him but sadly I was too late.
I had been told what an amazing gentleman he was, a wealth of information a true character. I wish greatly that I had found him sooner. He was my cousin, we shared the same McCarthy heritage,
I feel a great loss at not having met you Diarmuid, rest in peace from your Welsh cousin.

I am very sad to read this today. Diarmuid and I connected for the first time three years ago in our exploration of our roots. He was my Irish McCarthy cousin. We managed to solve some family mysteries, but above all, he was a delightful guy to correspond with. I emailed him just today with some new information. I had hoped we would get to meet in person one day. Rest in Peace, Diarmuid, and my deepest condolences to his children and grandchildren.

I was so sorry to hear of Diarmuid's passing. As a colleague of his on the staff of the Royal Irish Academy back in the day, I remember him clearly as a kind and gentle soul, though sharp enough when it came to matters of fairness and justice. Sincere condolences to the whole family.
