Very very sad to hear about Ferg's passing (just today). My deepest condolences to Liz and family and all Ferg's siblings. I have such fond memories of my visits to Belmont...the rest is history! Rest in Peace dear friend. 🙏

Though I had never had the occasion to meet Dr McKeagney in person I have spoken on countless occasions with Dr McKeagney over the past 26 years in my position in MRH Portlaoise OPD, he was an advocate for his patients & always so engaging in his requests, may he RIP.

I used to call to the McKeagney Surgery when I was a young Medical Representative and always left there in awe of Dr Fergus He made time for everybody.Business was usually conducted in his music studio while he strummed his guitar and he always supported my products .
He was a very nice man who spoke with great pride and affection of his wife and children.

Sincere condolences to the McKeagney family on the sad passing of Fergus . Dr Fergus was my late parents G.P for many years. When my late mother was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2017 Fergus was absolutely brilliant, so kind,compassionate, caring and thoughtful he became my rock. He did home visits to us and was so giving of his time and knowledge in helping me look after Mum and keep her at home. When she finally lost her battle in 2020 fergus was the first person out to our house. He said such kind meaningful words that i will always remember.
I will never forget Dr Fergus McKeagney, may he rest in peace and have the best bed in heaven

Our sincere condolences to Neil and all the McKeagney family on the sad passing of Dr. Fergus McKeagney. Condolences also to all his Colleagues in the Medi centre. He was a gentleman with all his patients taking time to listen to them. He has been our doctor for many years like his Dad and Mam before that. He did sick calls to the house and if he wasn't too busy he would have a chat and a cup of tea. His patients will miss his whistling and his humming as he came to call his next patient. May he rest in peace.

My sincerest sympathies to the McKeagney family. I am really sad to hear of the passing of Fergus. What a gentleman he was. I always loved chatting with Fergus about guitars, equipment and music when we would meet. He had such a great love for life, family and friends. He will be sadly missed. RIP Fergus my friend.

My deepest condolences to the McKeagney family. I had the good fortune to play golf with Fergus while at RCSI. I was a year below him and we were both part of the nascent RCSI golf team in 1979. In an abundance of hubris, we had signed up to play the Varsity Golf tournament against UCD, Trinity, UCC, etc. Our first match was against Cork and the RCSI team went to Little Island golf club to play them. Very early on in the matches, a ferocious rainstorm stopped all the matches. After about 3 hours of rain the golf course closed, and the matches were called. Miraculously, the result was that RCSI had tied with UCC. It was a real insult to Cork. Fergus took it upon himself to call the Irish Times so the results could be published the next day. It was the best result of RCSI golf team for many years and published in the Irish Times! May Fergus great spirit live on.

We were able to watch his funeral mass on the WebCam and see the love and appreciation for Fergus.
It was a very fitting tribute as witnessed by the attendance , the music and the wonderful eulogy by Neil.
