Sincere condolences to Sarah and all your family on the loss of your mother. I attended one of her lectures about the Magdalen laundries in Butler House in Kilkenny in the 1980s or 90s, long before the subject became common knowledge and she left a lasting impression on me. May God grant her eternal rest and console those left behind.
Dear Rachel and Sarah. My deepest condolences to you both on Frankie’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and I remember her with fondness . She was an inspiration to everyone. May she rest in peace.
Sarah, Rachel and family.
We are sad to hear of Frankies death.
Our beacon has been quenched.
But Frankies strengths live on in all those that ever met her.
Con tristezza e amore al nostro angelo.

So sorry to hear the news of Frankie's passing. She was a fantastic lady, so full of passion, a down to earth person, fiercely loyal to her friends, who made an impression wherever she went. It was a privilege to know her. I remember her teaching me Communications down in the old barracks on Barrack Street in Waterford - she made it fun. My sincerest condolences to Rachel, Sarah and all the family on Frankie's passing.

I was very sorry to hear of Frankie’s death. A remarkable radical and authentic voice, she was a passionate historian, whose OUP book on the Magdalene Laundries was underestimated nationally. Sympathies to family, friends, colleagues and former students. Ar Dheis De etc
Dear Sarah and Rachel - and your nearest and dearest.

We are all so sad to hear about Auntie Frankie’s passing. We are so sorry we cannot be there for a final farewell - our thoughts are with you all.

Much love Gary, Debbie, Ruth and Nyome xxx
Dearest Rachel and Sarah, it is with deep sadness and sense of loss I learn that Frankie has died. Despite the unforgiving omens it is still a great shock to me to be now condoling with you and all the family in your bereavement at this saddest time of the final farewell on earth. The irrepressible, irreplaceable and wonderful Frankie in her going leaves us all who knew her well and fondly bereft and grieving. In the lecture hall and in the salon she was the electric charge and always the " cynosure of neighbouring eyes “. Memories of all our times together, especially in Mount Alto, and now this time of parting, bring to mind the words Heaven - Haven :-
I have desired to go
Where Springs not fail
To fields where flies
No sharp and sided hail
And a few lilies blow.

And I have asked to be
Where no storms come
Where the green swell is in the havens dumb
And out of the swing of the sea.
Leaba i measc na Naomh go raibh aici, go gcloise sí ceol na n-aingeal, solas na bhflaitheas go bfheice sí. Guím sólás agus grásta Dé oraibh féin is go dtuga Dia misneach daoibh uile ag an uair bhrónach seo. Le gach dea-ghuí, Máirtín.
Sincere sympathy to Rachel David and family on death of Rachel’s mother.

Sincere condolences to Rachel and Finnegan and Kane families at this sad time.
My sincere condolences to Frankie’s family. I was a student of Frankie’s in Waterford in the early eighties and then again nearly 20 years later in WIT. As a young student and later as a mature student I loved her lectures in social history. We had many conversations outside of class in college street campus and the invaluable research she did on the Magdalene Laundries in Ireland. I will remember her as an intellectual, flamboyant, strong and caring woman. RIP Frankie your legacy will live on.
