Dear Shalini and Patrick, I was very saddened to hear the passing of your Mum Gouri. It is an immense loss for both of you. I met Gouri in 1983 through my brother Dr. Raj Grewal. Gouri was vivacious, warm, kind and loving. She was beautiful inside and outside. Your Dad Frank was an equal match for Gouri. He was extremely kind and protective to me when I first arrived. Your Mum was a great cook and a brilliant hostess. I have such good memories of being in her house at dinner parties drinking cups of tea with Frank. May both of them rest in peace. I will always remember them with love and affection.

Our sincere sympathies to Shalini and Patrick on the loss of your mother. Your sadness will be relieved by the many happy memories of your lives with her. We look forward to sharing those memories when we meet you both soon.

Dear Shalini and Patrick. I am so very very sorry to hear of Gouri’s passing. She was a vital member of the SATU team who was always kind and considerate. I so enjoyed her stories about India but it was her love for her Irish family that always shone through. What a great loss for you both and all her friends and family

I have such fond memories as a child, listening to my mum, Gouri and Frank debate politics and history while Shalini and I played. Her food was exceptional and there was always Dahl and rice on the stove. xxx

We live on by our deeds—and a daughter is a lovely deed and doer of deeds both. I knew her mostly through her daughter but that was enough to know she brought light in with her, and the light has not gone out. All my thoughts and sympathy with your family, Shalini.
