I was a former employee in The Hanna Retail and Wholesale Shop in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan for a good number of years. I have fond memories of Dr. John, a pure Gentleman. Sincere sympathies Nancy to you, Joyce and David and family members and friends on the sad loss of your father. Though he had a long life it’s never easy to say goodbye. I have happy memories of visits to Meadowfield and also remember how my late parents used to enjoy their meetings with John and Peggy in Dublin city centre, back in the day. Time ticks on but the memories will remain. God bless.

We have wonderful memories of his kindness, care & good humour. I am still living in a house he built. Just watched the emotional & lovely service . We have just been watching a beautiful & emotional memorial service for the late Dr. John. Well deserved, I have fond memories of my time working in the shop in the 1960's. Dr. John was a man way ahead of his time, very progressive. His long journey has ended. May he rest in peace.
