Hey Kevin, so many people here wrote about how you changed lives, well you certainly changed mine. Ileana and Noel eulogies still resonate deeply in me and it saddens me that no more students will be able to benefit from your advice.
Your dedication to academic excellence was inspiring, but it was the sincerity and genuine care you poured into every one of our interactions that made you truly exceptional.
You empowered myself and many other people to achieve their dreams and I look forward to carrying and spreading your teachings everywhere I go.

Rest easy Kevin and know that your legacy lives on through us all.

We were truly shocked to read of the untimely death of Kevin. As the mother of a DCU graduate who is neurodiverse, both my son and I had identified Kevin as one of a few people who might understand and help him - and indeed he did. His support helped my son turn a corner. Sadly as he reached out this week to Kevin to tell him of the fruition of a project in which Kevin had mentored him, we learned of his death. He was a man whose youthful appearance belied the depth of his knowledge and generosity of spirit. We owe Kevin a big debt. Our deepest sympathy to his wife, stepson, mother, father, extended family, friends, and colleagues in DCU.

It was with shock that I learnt of the death of my final year project supervisor, and more recently mentor, Dr Kevin McGuinness.

Kevin's generosity of spirit with his time supported me through difficult situations.

I knew Kevin as an undergraduate student, as a PhD student, as a postdoc as a colleague in DCU and as a friend. I had the privilege to work with him on many projects over many years. He had a brilliant mind and he was the ultimate kind person as well as being unselfishly helpful to many of us. He reached and impacted so many people through his work and through his teaching and through his willingness to help others. We are all hurting from the shock and numbed by the loss of a great friend but ours is nothing compared to what Ileana, Christian and Kevin's family must be feeling. Deepest sympathies and condolences to you all. May you rest peacefully my friend.

This was a terribly sad and tragic loss. Kevin will be sorely missed by all his colleagues. My deepest condolences to all his family and friends.

We are all truly shocked and saddened by Kevin’s passing. He was a brilliant intellectual, unfailingly generous with his time, and hugely modest. He was internal examiner of one of my PhD students, and came across as extremely knowledgeable, but very supportive. As Kevin's PhD student, I was stuck in admiration for him. He was a source of knowledge, humility, and grace that shone brightly in the vast expanse of academia. Beyond his unparalleled expertise in the field, Kevin had a unique way of merging pedagogy with genuine human connection, making learning not just an obligation but a journey filled with passion and discovery. My heart go out to all of you during this unimaginably painful time. I share in your grief and stand by you in spirit. May Kevin's soul find eternal peace.
