Class of 1972 Cistercian College Roscrea. I remember well our first day in CCR - Martin was being pointed out as the one who was Number One in the entrance exams. His academic genius was only ever topped by his ever friendly and courteous disposition. We re-found the exact same Martin at our 50th reunion last Autumn. RIP.

It is with profound sadness that I learned that Martin has passed away. To all his immediate family and academic colleagues, He was and still is one of the good guys of the class of 1967 - 72 at Cistercian College Roscrea. It was great to meet him once again in Birr on the occasion of the 50th reunion of our year group. He was the top student of our year and deserved all that he achieved in life. He will be having great discussions on many topics with Fr Patrick and Fr Emanuel. I know that he has gone to his just reward.

On behalf of his classmates from 1967 to 1972 in Cistercian College Roscrea I would extend our sincere sympathies to Martin’s family, friends and colleagues on his death. We were delighted that he made it to our 50 years Class Reunion in September 2022 and will remember his cheerful, calm and interested disposition. Top academic performer in school and an all round nice guy. RIP Martin.
