I have very fond memories of Michael from Medical School. He was always in top witty form. Michael had a car , a rare thing then, and our full car often rocked with the singing on our early morning trips to Corks hospitals. A gentleman. My condolences to Michael’s family. RIP

So sorry to hear of Michael’s untimely death - I and all our classmates have such fond memories of Mick during our time in medical school in UCC. He was first in the alphabet and first in many other ways and I am sure he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Deepest condolences to you all.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Michael. I was a colleague of his in medical training in Ucc and next in line in the alphabet with my surname of Barry. We were therefore rostered together in every part of our training. The register call each tutorial was ANKETELL, Barry , Boland which is etched on my memory.
Michael was always such a kind and generous person he gave us many lifts back from various hospitals where we had morning clinical training. Coffee was always the order of the day after training !
Michael or Mick, as we called him, had a great sense of wit and irony. Although I have not seen him for many years, I wish to pass my condolences to his family and will treasure fond memories of being in his company for our years of training.

Mick and I were thrown together in college with him being A and me C. We had many a scrape and joke together throughout the six years. He was really kind to me when finals results came out. I have missed having contact with him and I so sad for you all at his death.
