Sincere sympathy to Finn's family; good memories of childhood neighbour in Cork and the joys of Fountainstown. He was a dedicated scientist also with his Dad's reflective sense of humour.
My sincere condolences to Michael’s family. In 1977, I was a student working under Michael’s supervision on a crop fractionation project in what was then called AFT Dunsinea—now the Teagasc Ashtown Food Centre. He provided me with support and encouragement, which resulted in the award of an M.Agr. Science and my first step towards a research career. May he rest in peace.

I have just watched the beautiful service for your Dad girls and it was truly the most special and personal send off you could have given him. Your own words, the prayers from the family and the wonderful priest combined to capture and portray the essence of your Dad. I have no doubt he would be quietly chuffed.

Dear Family of the late Dr Michael Maguire.
I am very sorry to hear of Dr Maguires death. As a UCD postgraduate student in animal nutrition over several years in the late 1960’s and a bit beyond, I received much help and guidance from your Dad on my research when he was at AFT Dunsinea. He was a major leader in Ireland in many aspects of my then research field.
