I have just heard the sad news of Dr Noel’s death and am very sorry to have missed his funeral.
As a public health nurse in Askeaton for some years, I worked closely with Dr Noel and found him to be a wonderful kind caring doctor, always concerned for his patients.
My deepest sympathy and prayers to his dear wife and family, and may Dr Noel gain the heavenly reward he truly deserves.
I also remember his dear wife, Shamrock, a very kind lady. May they both Rest In Peace.

I was very sorry to hear of Noel's passing, a very important fixture in our families life for many years. Very much so the family doctor, and who doesn't remember his wonderful infectious laugh? Will be much missed, condolences to all his family, fondly remembered by ours. May he RIP.

To all the Fitzgibbon Family,

Sad to say goodbye to such a lovely man. Noel & Mary were always such an integral part of our childhood memories. Lovely visits to Askeaton (& its magical garden), sing-songs, laughter and general merriment was always associated with Noel. With little encouragement, he'd happily belt out "There is an Isle" or "Dublin in the Rare Old Times" with great gusto & enthusiasm.

Synonymous with that unforgettable laugh which reflected his attitude to life - heartfelt, enthusiastic and generous.

He enjoyed a glass of good red wine as much as he enjoyed sharing it in the company of family and friends.

He will be dearly missed by us all. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
