Dr Miriam Bailey

Miriam had a lovely Family in Ireland, but in addition a HUGE Tribe throughout the World!

It was a gift and an honour to be a friend of Miriam! She was an Ambassador for Ireland. Like the many emails from her friends, I agree. Her family, was our family! Gosh she love, love, loved her family! She had the heart of a poet and the humour of the true rascal! Can you not still here her laughter in your heart? As for the Bailey and Slattery Family, I hope you drop a line from time to time.....because I have a love for each of you, because that is how Miriam shared all of you! Her love was amazing, and she brought you into our hearts and our homes.

She brought me to Court Mac in 1997. I now have found in Monahan, Ireland that I have 100's of Trainor Family in Ireland. I was home in 2019 for huge Family Reunion...and will be back again and again.

To know Miriam, is to love Ireland...and Canada...and The World. She will continue to ride in my heart and my life, as she will in yours.

Amazing Woman...Generous of Spirit...a Truely Remarkable Woman! Rock on Ms Miriam! I know you missed your brother Denis,and I know you are with her now! See you when I see you!

I had the pleasure of knowing Miriam when she organised an exhibition at her gallery in Bandon many years ago by the featured craftspeople in the Barryroe Co Op calendar 2006. She was a very intelligent and encouraging knowledgeable woman. I greatly admired her. So sad to hear of her passing. Rest in peace Miriam.

Miriam will surely be missed! She was my next door neighbour in Montreal Canada for many years . I adored her sense of humour and zest for life. We had our favourite outings for coffee, lemon loaf and books at Chapters. I will think of her every time I go there now and all the laughs and conversations we had about everything and nothing at all.

John and I are so sad to hear about Miriam’s passing. We knew Miriam through our mutual overseas work and also visited her in her beautiful home in Courtmacsherry on a number of occasions. She was a generous and kind hearted person, who helped many people throughout her life.
