So sad to hear this news even though we were well aware of Nial’s situation! Not only was Nial an inspiration to so many on a professional level, he was an inspiration to Aslan as a friend he was always there for each and every one of us be it medical or just plain good advice! Gave us a room to rehearse in when things were rock bottom for the band! Lifted our spirits at some very low points and always made us laugh! We have treasured memories of so many great times with both Nial and Noreen that couldn’t possibly be forgotten, the kindness the help the friendship was a god send to us,
Love ye pal sleep well ❤️❤️❤️

Noreen,
I am very sorry to hear of Nial's recent death. I understand that he was ill for some time but I know from my own recent experience that the end always comes as an immense shock.

I often marvel at the patience and tolerance of both of you in allowing a gauche young kid tag along with you during your walks around Pole's Road all those years ago. It was a relatively small detail at the time but over the years it came to exemplify for me the generosity of spirit and inclusion that both of you displayed throughout your lives together.

As I got older I was initiated into Uncle Nials famous family celebrations. Copious eating, drinking, talking and singing until the early hours......they were such great fun.
