Dr Niamh Collins

Despite knowing Niamh Collins briefly during my 3rd year at medical school, she was an amazing teacher and a great inspiration to myself and other students. We knew it would be a good TCD session if she was present.
I would have loved to have learnt more from her as she truly was the best and had a great spark.
May she rest in peace xxx

My deepest sympathy to you all. I taught on trauma courses with Niamh. Such a lady loved the craic and chat. We were two proud athlone woman over in England. May she rest in peace.

I was really upset to hear of Niamh’s passing. She was such a wonderful person. I worked with her for many years and she was absolutely fantastic with patients and staff. She always respected radiology staff and was most supportive and helpful person.

Niamh was a fantastic colleague and it was always a pleasure to work with her. She always had a smile on her face no matter how difficult the circumstances were. She had the best interest of her patients at heart and was always an inspiration to all those who worked with her. We will all miss her deeply and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time. She will be missed and will not be forgotten.

I was just devastated to hear Niamh had died. I knew she was unwell but still doesn't prepare you. I worked with Niamh on improving care for people with delirium. In her I found a fantastic colleague and a good friend. She was so passionate about patient care and such a fantastic trainer to medical students and junior doctors. She will be hugely missed by many but her legacy will live on through all those lives that she touched and all those doctors that she taught. My sympathies for Rachel and all Niamh family. My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

It was a real privilege and pleasure to work with Niamh - she was always full of energy, enthusiastic and happy to help. It made any visit to the ED a pleasure knowing she was on shift. I am a nurse who worked with Niamh in Salford Royal Emergency Department.

When I think of Niamh I think of the most amazing person I've ever met. A quick question on a corridor would turn in to 15 minutes of her offering advice, encouragement and exiting ideas. She had time for everyone, I don't know how she did it!

I can still see her smiley face willing me to succeed during my advanced life support exam. She wanted everyone to do well and it was so powerful.

Her compassion for patients was endless, when others got frustrated she would empathise. I would watch in awe and wish I could be even a small part as good as she was.

I'm so sorry for Rachel and her family. My thoughts go out to them.
I will never forget this amazing person, taken too soon.

Niamh's positive influence and impact on colleagues and countless future doctors has been exceptional. I will always remember her unstoppable enthusiasm, her infectious love of medicine and evident selfless care for others - what an inspiration she has been to us all. We were so fortunate to have known her. She has given so much to others in her life - to her patients and those she taught by her shining example.My deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers for Rachel and all her family, and friends who are bereft at losing her too soon

I had the pleasure of working alongside Niamh in the emergency department at Salford Royal. Niamh had a way of making everyone both colleagues and patients feel like they were the most important person at that time.
Myself and John also had the privilege of knowing Niamh and Rachel as friends and have wonderful memories to cherish. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Niamh your are a true inspiration to us all.

I had the pleasure of working with Niamh in ED at Salford Royal and she was full of joy, enthusiasm, boundless energy and always treated every member of staff regardless of position with the same regard and personal warmth. Niamh had a unique way of making patients feel safe and listened to and thoroughly deserved her Dr of the year award. Niamh was a fantastic educator to medical students/ junior doctors/ nursing staff and her legacy will live on. My sincere sympathy to Rachel and her family and friends at such a profound loss

It was a privilege to have met Niamh and to have worked with her. I never saw her turn anyone away when they needed help, and she always had an ear to lend. Her generosity and kindness to everyone she met was humbling.

she was the GP for our Receptionist, who said she was a lovely and kind person, who will be sadly missed by all her Family and Friends.
