I was so sorry to hear of Dr Fitzpatrick 's death. As a student in RCSI he was a wonderful teacher and when I was a junior doctor in Jervis st he was always very supportive to me. He was one of my heroes in medicine, such a gentle and unassuming man and yet he had so much knowledge to impart, Irish medicine has lost a treasure.

As neighbours in Ardlui, we knew Paddy and Bridie for over 30 years.

They were both hugely loved and respected by all their neighbours.

Both were people of great faith.

Knowing he passed away at home having had such a fruitful and giving life is a blessing. That what Paddy would have wanted.

Such a wonderful and caring husband, father and neighbour and a brilliant Clinical Pathologist in RCSI, Beaumont and its associated hospitals.

Highly admired by colleagues.

Hugely regarded as a teacher by his undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Nationally and internationally highly respected in his field.

He will be missed - he was such a beautiful gentle presence beloved by us all who knew him.

The bed of heaven to Dr. Patrick.we have lovely memories of his many visits to miltown malbay, calling up to my parents house for the" key to the flag road".

We were students in the RCSI where Paddy was one of the best teachers we ever had. He made every concept so simple and was so patient and so kind to all the students. We worked with Paddy in Beaumont Hospital for many years and he was an excellent histopathologist and a wonderful colleague. It was a great privilege to work so closely with Paddy and to have had the benefit of his wonderful knowledge and teaching and expertise. He taught on fellowship courses in surgery in RCSI for many many years in Dublin and also in the Middle East, where he was so highly respected. May he rest in peace. Mary Leader and Frank Keeling.
