So sorry to hear of Paddy's death and to have missed his funeral. He did so much for so many people and music in Limerick & was a fine teacher. I was honoured to be his pupil. My sympathies to his family. An extraordinary gentleman.

So sad to hear of the death of Paddy. A great musical director and conductor for Voices of Limerick.

Paddy, you will never be forgotten. I will always remember your energy and enthusiasm and kind nature to all you came into contact with. A most moving Requiem Mass, and my condolences to all the family, especially to Damian, Denise,
Patrick, Edel and Gemma.

I was honoured to play in the Boherbuoy Band under Paddy’s musical baton and to learn trumpet in the Limerick School of Music with Paddy as an excellent teacher. He brought out the best in all. His music, musical arrangements and legacy will live on. May he rest in peace.

I will be forever grateful to you Mr. Mac for sharing and instilling your wonderful love of music in me and for convincing me to learn the oboe all those years ago when all I ever really wanted to play was the clarinet!
From my weekly lessons with you as a young student, to my first teaching appointment under your principalship in Limerick School of Music to your guidance, encouragement and support with my appointment to my present position in Kerry in 2007, I will be eternally thankful.
I am heartbroken that I cannot be there to honour you today at your Requiem Mass with the wonderful Boherbuoy Band but I will have a candle lighting for you here in West Kerry this evening and will smile at my many treasured memories of you.
The next time I play Gabriel’s Oboe, it shall be just for you.💙

We, like many other parents, got to know Paddy through his role as Principal of the limerick School of Music.
He was always helpful approachable and most pleasent to deal with.
Each of our children benefitted from his advice and support while they were students of the school of music.

My sincere condolences to all of the McCormack family and to Paddy's wide circle of friends. When I worked in Limerick City, I got to know Paddy through our mutual friend the late Joe O'Connor. I was privileged to join Paddy and his choir Musica Sacra Chorale on many wonderful visits to various Cathedrals throughout Europe. Paddy was a man of deep faith, reflected in his own compositions for use in the liturgy. He always insisted on the highest possible standard of music for the celebration of Mass and other liturgical services. He set a high standard for others to follow. How appropriate that his Requiem Mass will be celebrated on the feast of All Saints. Paddy now joins with the saints and the choirs of angels at the heavenly banquet in singing the praises of God for all eternity. May he rest in peace. Fr Tony

A wonderfully talented musician, beautiful singer, and profession. He was a kind and special gentleman who inspired so many hundreds of pupils in the school of music with a love of music and so many musicians throughout the city with his involvement with the McCormack Singers and all the other choirs and musical groups with whom he was involved. Dr. McCormack was a credit to his profession, a friend and mentor and an inspiration to many people, he spread his love of music throughout Limerick, Ireland and worldwide and he leaves a wonderful legacy behind him but none as great as you his children of whom he was very proud. He is now reunited with your beloved Mum, his suffering now over and no doubt he will be planning many a musical evening and conducting the choirs in heaven. We hope the wonderful memories you have of both your parents will help you during this very sad and difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in Peace Paddy 🙏

With sincere sympathy to Gemma , Edel, Denise , Pat , Damien and all the extended Mc Cormack family on the death of a gentleman , a talented musician and composer , a teacher , conductor , administrator and most of all of course your beloved dad , grandad , brother and friend. In my young musical life Paddy was an inspiration , a mentor , a friend. Many of his wonderful Mc Cormack singers were the tenors and basses of the Redemptorist choir with whom I worked . As a young musician I loved nothing more than to sit and listen and I learned so much from listening to the tone produced by Paddy in that male voice choir Throughout his many years as leader of the Boherbuoy band he combined with the Reds choir for so many performances which brought such joy to so many Limerick people. He was a humble , unassuming , quietly spoken , deeply spiritual man who loved his life , his Music , his wife Evelyn and his family so much.
May his gentle soul rest easy now after such a busy wonderful life.

We have so many happy memories of Thursday night rehearsals in Mary I and travelling abroad singing music composed for us by Paddy. What an honour it was for us all. We will always treasure those memories.
No doubt he is once again reunited with Joe O Connor and planning the next adventure.
He was one of a kind, always smiling and a twinkle in his eye. He spoiled us all with his incredible talent. The music world is poorer having lost him.
