With heartfelt sympathy to the Smith family on the sad passing of Dr Paul.
He was an outstanding mentor to me during my training in Cavan General
Hospital. I will always remember his wisdom and sensitivity. Paul was a true professional, supportive and caring. It was an honour to benefit from his wisdom and advice. May his soul rest in peace.

It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Dr Paul. In 2015, Dr Paul was a patient in the same ward as our father. We will be always be grateful for his kindness, empathy and wisdom in the final weeks of our father’s life.
