Dr. Peter James FAUL MD FRCPI

I was very sorry to learn of Dr Faul's death. He was one of the best general physicians of his generation in Ireland. I was fortunate to work with him for 3 years in Kilkenny and he was one of the best clinical teachers I had. I also appreciated his friendship and many lively conversations together at family and professional events. We will all share many happy memories of times with him. RIP.

I only became aware yesterday that Dr Faul had died. R.I.P .

I became aware of his reputation as a highly respected physician very soon after Frank & I moved to Kilkenny in 2006.
I worked as a GP in Castle Gardens and Frank was the new Emergency department consultant.
I soon learned how well he looked after our mutual patients and how respectfully he treated them.
His reputation was well founded.
We met him at clinical society in those early days and both of us agreed that he was in the mould of one or two of the excellent physicians we’d worked for in our training in Galway and Castlebar.
In recent years I would see him walking his dogs on College Road.
The people of Kilkenny and beyond were extremely fortunate to have had his care over the years. R.I.P

As a nurse in Aut Even for many years I think I learned more from Dr Faul the I did from books, he was always willing to share knowledge. The patience, time and reassurance he gave to his patients and their families was always appreciated.
He cared for my mother at one point and 3 weeks following discharge she received a hand written letter from Dr Faul enquiring how she was doing and wishing her well, that was the kindness and dedication that he had for his patients.
May he now rest in peace.

I worked as a junior doctor under his guidance in the late seventies and early eighties. What an honour it was. A kind,diligent and extremely helpful tutor. His medical knowledge and care for his patients had a very influential effect on how I came to practice medicine, for that I am forever grateful. May he rest in peace.

Thinking of You All at this Very Difficult Time.Dr Faul taught me so much as a young Staff Nurse in Aut Even for 10.years.He LOOKED LISTENED AND HEARD THE PATIENT....and his Knowledge would fill THE IRISH MAP. His little grin would GREET US no matter what time Day or Night he was summoned.He looked after my Wonderful Parents now in their 80s and 90s. I AM THE LUCKY ONE who has worked with him.United with his Beloved Noreen again.💜💜💜

In addition I did the second part of my internship under Dr Faul at st Luke's hospital. I learned a lot , and Dr Faul could be seen on the wards both day and night . He worked tirelessly for his patients with his skills and dedication .
I know Mrs Faul died some years ago and. It must have been an awful loss for him and you all . Once again my deepest and most sincere sympathies to you all at this very sad time . May he rest in peace .
