I will always remember Sandra as the lovely little girl I knew when she lived in Glenbeg. I was so saddened to hear of her passing. Deepest sympathy to Mary, Cathal, Brian, Aideen, James, Stephen and little Oscar. You are all in my thoughts.

We are so sad to hear about Sandra. A terrible loss. We knew Sandra from her time in Aberdeen when we all felt so lucky to have her involvement in the folk club. I am remembering a particular evening when a group of us went to a Korean Restaurant, as Sandra said she liked Korean food. After a good meal and great chat, we went on to the folk club for some singing, laughter and easy company. We hoped for more evenings like this. Rest in Peace, dear friend. My heart goes out to Sandra's family, friends and especially her dear son Oscar. Sandra was the most wonderful, warm, caring and supportive person. Remembering Sandra, I think of her smile, her fantastic ideas, her energy and her collegiality. I so enjoyed working with her on our shared academic interests, which were part of our friendship. Her insights and ideas have shaped aspects of my teaching and especially my approach to crafting in the classroom. I consider it an honour to have known her. Her loss is enormous. My most sincere condolences.

Thinking of Sandra, what comes to mind is warmth. She brought such wonderful energy and positivity with her wherever she went. I knew her through the creative writing course in Edinbrugh, and what I remember from that time are conversations filled with laughter, her passion for words and story-telling, and what a joy it was to simply pass the time with her. She will be very fondly remembered, and deeply missed. Hearfelt condolences to her family.

Sad to hear this devastating news. Sandra was a kind and loving babysitter, along with her sister Aideen many years ago for our family. A bright, creative and upbeat soul who made such an impact on our lives. May she rest in peace and sending our love and prayers to her family.

Sandra's time in Aberdeen is fondly remembered by her colleagues at the University of Aberdeen, where she quickly became an integral part of the community. Her warmth, energy, positive attitude, friendly smile and generosity of spirit made her a valued colleague who was missed when she left the university. Her students loved her and, even years after she stopped teaching in Aberdeen, they would ask after her and pass along their very best. We are all deeply saddened to hear of her passing and will miss her a great deal. Our sincere sympathy for her family.

You were a genuinely kind, supportive, gem of a person. Always encouraging on our Edinburgh Creative Writing course, your warmth and gentle humour embraced us all. I was so shocked to hear of your passing Sandra. I remember the great times we had at Uni in Valencia Spain, busking, partying, consoling me when I was homesick and being a good laugh. You will always be in my thoughts and I am so glad we got back in touch again on Facebook a few years ago. I am sure Oscar will have fond memories of his mummy.

I had the privilege of studying with Sandra during our time as PhD students at Queens. I remember her fondly & particularly the encouraging words & support she so readily offered. Sandra was always warm, friendly & so easy to talk with. She will undoubtedly be missed so greatly by all who loved her. My sympathy to her family. Psalm 34 v 18.

I meet Sandra while we were both doing or PhDs. I am very sorry to hear about her passing. She was such a grat person, she helped me with the nostalgia for my home country (Chile). A bit of the county lived in her, as now a bit of Ireland lives in me, in part, thanks to her. She will be greatly missed.

We met Sandra in Chile and enjoyed her company when she came to visit us in the Cajon del Maipo. She doted on Liam and would turn up with a wee thoughtful present for him and cuddle and play with him as much as she could. The craic was always great and manys a story she told and had us in stitches. She helped us when we were going through a difficult time and we will never forget her solidarity.
She was always an angel.
