Very sad to hear of the passing of Dr Siobhan O’Donnell. She was a great support to me last January after I had a bad accident. She encouraged me to continue my Masters while I contemplated giving up. I will always be grateful to her.

My heart felt love and hugs go to all Siobhains family. We remember her as the energetic, passionate, driven and feisty mentor and lecturer that she was. My heartfelt condolences to everyone in the O'Donnell family whom she always spoke so fondly of. I have worked alongside Siobain in DBS for many years and I always loved her wit, her smile, her style, her love-of-life, her knowledge and experience, her wisdom and the common-sense solution-focused way she handled things. Siobain was always one of my 'go-to people' whenever I needed advice or guidance in DBS and no matter how busy she was, she took the time to listen and to give clear and practical advice. She will be sorely missed by her colleagues in DBS. Siobain was a rare treasure and a lynch-pin in DBS for me and so many other of her colleagues and for her students - a bright light has gone out in college with her passing. To all of my aunts, uncles, cousins and Siobains's grand and great grandchildren: my heart breaks for you all. Aunt Bonnie was one of the most vivacious, hysterical and spontaneous people I'd ever known. Her zest for life was incomparable. She lived her life like there was no tomorrow and I so admired that about her! My late husband Bryan and she adored each other (she cheered him on everyday throughout his battle with cancer) and they spent many hours debating the world's problems and how the two of them would fix them! Let's hope they are up there now coming up with a plan for all of us down here. Siobain was my Mams youngest, baby sister and I know this is so very hard for all of her siblings. May her family find peace knowing that she impacted so many people through her love and work. My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to everyone that knew and loved my sweet Aunt Bonnie. Forever missed. Never forgotten ❤️

My warmest and deepest condolences to all of Siobains family who she treasured dearly and who she talked about all the time. As a colleague in DBS we shared countless chats over many years. She talked about all of her much loved children and grandchildren, and family with pride of course, but because my son Liam and her grandson Liam are of similar age, I would say 'How's your Liam?' and she would say 'How's your Liam?'.. Siobain was a very special person, one in a million, her own woman, warm, kind and such fun, always making me laugh and brightening my day. She took no prisoners, and inspired me in countless ways. Her service was beautiful. She will be sorely missed . I wish you all strength and comfort in the hard days coming.

I worked with Siobain at DBS from 2006 and will never forget her honesty, warmth and straight-talking. In particular, I treasure the memory of the DBS knowledge exchange trip to Tanzania in 2019. My deepest condolences to Siobain's family.

Deeply saddened by Siobain's passing, she was one of the loveliest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting; straight talking, humorous, optimistic, so willing to help and showed genuine interest in what you were doing. I knew Siobain in a few capacities in DBS, chairing Student Rep meetings, my thesis supervisor, and most fondly as a provider of unflinching support and kindness when I was struggling, I wouldn’t have graduated without her help and I'm forever grateful that our paths crossed in this lifetime, rest in peace Siobain.
