To Celene and all the Casey family, sincere condolences and belated support on the sad death of Vincent. I knew Vincent as a prominent member of the Irish Physics Community over the past forty years and was always in the better of meeting him. Such a gentleman and what a contribution he made to physics both in UL, with the IOPI and elsewhere. I am touched with sadness tonight at this news. May he be now at peace with the good Lord and may his noble soul have a soft bed in Heaven.

I am so sorry to hear this very sad news. I knew Vincent from his time with the Institute of Physics in Ireland. He gave generously of his time and expertise in supporting the physics community throughout Ireland, serving on the Committee for many years and as Chair 2007-2009. Among many initiatives he introduced the Rosse Medal to recognise graduate physics research in Ireland.

I particularly remember the Spring Weekend meetings and some great ceilidhs, bringing music and physics together.

A real gentleman.
