We are thinking of you all at this extremely sad time.
I met with Vincent several times over the past two years and he was always extremely brave in spite of knowing his problem. I certainly would not have been so philosophical. Amazingly he even came to postgrad lecture days I invited him to as he kept his interest in Dentistry.
Vincent was one of the special people who was special in all the right ways. We will all miss him and life will not be as good as it could have been with him around. I have very fond memories of numerous parties with Vincent in London and elsewhere. I always enjoyed his company and I lost count of the many parties which were ever so much the better that Vincent was there. We have all lost a great true Friend who as Joe Nolan has stated -Vincent did not have a bad bone in his body.
It was mine and my colleagues pleasure to instruct Vincent towards his Commercial flying career. He found it challenging but his determination was such that he was always going to be successful, and so he was. I will not sit next to a wiser or nicer man many times in my career, a true gent.

Stapleford Flight Centre, London.
Very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
We are thinking of you all at this difficult time.
We are all so so sorry.
I was a classmate of Vincent's in UCD and at the Dental Hospital. I'm so saddened to hear about his death.
He was always in good spirits. He never said a negative word about anyone. I am proud to have known him and will miss his humour and his generous nature.

I first met Vincent in Coolnevaun, Stillorgan in the summer of 1966 and we were friends ever since. We grew up together, in and out of each-others houses for years until Vincent moved to London.

I used to visit him there occasionally. When I married in 1983, he did me the honour of being my best man.

I will miss going out for a pint on his trips home.

I will miss him.

Niall Syms.
