My sincere sympathies to all of the O'Donovan family on the passing of Dr. Bill. I could write a book on the memories I have of Dr. Bill.
He was a brilliant doctor and absolute gentleman with a healing gift that went beyond anything that could be taught in books.
I am forever grateful (and blessed) to have had Dr. Bill as our doctor, the respect, patience and especially the wonderful caring way he treated my mother will never be forgotten.
I always enjoyed meeting him over the years when I was home on holidays, usually at Colligan mass, and he would inquire how I was doing ect.
Dr. Bill will be deeply missed by the broad community he served as GP and we were all blessed to have such a doctor caring for us.
May he rest in peace in the arms of the angels.

We offer our sincerest condolences on Dr Bill's passing. There are really no words to describe what The Doc meant to me. He was so caring, be it in the clinic before his retirement or after the meetings in the pub. He loved West Waterford and had many stories about people and places he came across in all the years serving our community. There will be nobody like Dr Bill again, we were privileged to have him as our doctor for so long.
He will be a huge loss not only to his family but also the community at large. Himself and Chris were a fantastic team.
May Dr Bill now Rest in Peace.

Doctor treated my many injuries ,both by day & night- at all times with respect & absolute attention to every detail.
Doctor had the intelligence to know the source of my disabilities, particularly at night time call - outs, HE having more knowledge regarding Family history for generations,
Dr. has sufficient respect for me & my self worth until I spoke to him honestly & the EXCELLENT Dr.BILL, simply said " I know that" and. " Why wouldn't I know". Thanking Dr.Bill for ME to accept the realisation of a deep black hidden secret.
Today,it's called Domestic violence.
I meet Dr.Bill,before he got really sick & He loved his Career.
His memory was excellent, quoting,in his sincerity, """ sure what more could be expected ,from secreturery""" ,.& then with a further though , "" suppose secreturery ,
sure d dogs knew for years & years "
Dr.loved his hobbies & walking the field & woods.
His love for vintage ie, Jaguars cars & his ability to repair them was admirable.
Many learned at his Funeral Mass how he met his wife outside the Cork Hospital !!! her bike needed fixing
Bill was her Man !!!!
