Sincere condolences to Gloria and the family. I remember Thomas well from our days as postgraduates at University of Ulster, Coleraine, and latterly as faculty members at UL. Always an interesting conversationalist and kind hearted.

I met Thomas early in my career as a young researcher, and he generously took me under his wing. He was always welcoming, encouraging, and kind. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Thomas was a gentle soul who made a lasting impact on those he met, including myself. His support and warmth meant a great deal, and I will always remember him with gratitude and respect.

I just learned the desperately sad news about Thomas. Thomas was my PhD supervisor, and I counted him as a mentor and a friend. I wasn’t in touch with Thomas too often, but I very much enjoyed the contact we did have, and I will miss him. He was an amiable, wise and a generous man, and a true rarity with whom I will always regret not having more time with. My deepest sympathies to Gloria, and his family.
