Dear Katie, Ricky, Raymond and the entire Aboud family, on behalf of the Fadlu-Deen family, I wish to extend heartfelt condolences to you all on the sad passing of dear Wadi. He and my late husband were childhood friends and the Aboud family has always been warm and friendly to us. I remember the many receptions for St. Patrick's Day in Freetown, which he and Katie so graciously hosted. He will be greatly missed in the diplomatic, religious and commercial community in Freetown. He has done so much for us all. May his soul rest in peace and may his family be consoled by the good Lord in this difficult time. With love and prayers, Kitty
I’m saddened by the news of the death of Wadi Aboud, a man with whom I worked for three decades in Freetown. Wadi helped me immensely to take care of my people in the then Archdiocese of Freetown and Bo, Sierra Leone. His generosity to the Irish Spiritan missionaries in Sierra Leone and Ireland was extraordinary. I have already celebrated Mass for him and his family and will continue to do so. May he rest in peace. Amen.
We, the Holy Spirit Missionaries of the Spiritan Provinces of Ireland, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Ghana are saddened by the news of the death of our dear friend and brother Wadi. We have lost the man who always welcomed us in Freetown with open arms. Rest in peace, Wadi.
My sincere condolences to the Aboud family. I knew Dr Aboud from my time as Ambassador to Nigeria in the late 90's and subsequently when I worked in Irish Aid. Wadi was always a true gentleman, generous in his hospitality and shrewd in his advice.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
May uncle Wadi rest in peace.
My deepest sympathies to the Aboud family on the death of Wadi. When I was the Irish Ambassador to Nigeria I was also accredited to Sierra Leone. Wadi was a great support to the Irish community as Honorary Consul at the time. Ireland was well served by Wadi. He and Catherine and Raymond were most genial hosts to me during my visits to Sierra Leone. Wadi was a fount of wisdom on the trials and tribulations of Sierra Leone. I remember Raymond and I trying to persuade him to write is memoirs. Wadi was a gentleman and the world is all the poorer for his passing. I remember him and the family in my prayers.
I was very saddened to hear the news of your fathers passing Raymond. Please accept my sincere condolences, also to Ricky and your Mum. Your Dad seemed an almost larger than life figure and he certainly set high standards which you have carried on with great distinction. May he rest in peace.
My deepest sympathies to the aboud family especially Richard my gp
