Dymphna O' REGAN

To my O'Regan cousins. Remembering Aunty Dymphna on her sad passing. There are fond recollections of visiting you all on trips to Cootehall and the Water Splash. Aunty Dymphna and Uncle Paddy always made us feel so welcome.

Aunty Dymphna always was a woman of strong principles. Her involvement in politics is just one example of this. Her teaching career left a lasting legacy on those she educated. She had a long life and there are lots of happy memories for those left behind.

We were lucky to have had the opportunity to visit her in hospital with my mother, Pamela, less than four weeks before her passing.

Aunty Dymphna and Uncle Paddy are reunited in peace now.

It has been a sad week as we bid farewell to our neighbour and dear friend Dymphna. Sincere Sympathies to the O'Regan and extended families on her sad loss. We had a great friendship over many years through her involvement in politics, and her work in the family business alongside her teaching career in Cootehall National School. Dymphna would always greet you with a warm smile, not forgetting her infectious laugh. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Paddy. Slán go fóill Mo Chara dhilís.

Dymphna held many officer positions both locally and at Constituency level. She always took great interest in the organisation and when I was Secretary of the Constituency, she fondly spoke about her time as Secretary back in the 1980's.
