Sincere condolences to Jackie and all of Eamon's children and extended family and friends. I remember Eamon from many years ago as a young child, when he would be at athletics events with St John Bosco's and would be there with my Dad who was coaching at Lifford AC at the time (Ben O'Donnell). My Dad had huge fondness for Eamon and a huge level of respect for him. My Dad passed away almost 27 years ago, and although I am no longer in Donegal, I have continued to follow Eamon down through the years into Tír Conaill and so much more. I was so delighted to see the amazing tribute to him in the Donegal Democrat this week (we get a few copies down the country !) and no more than he deserved.

Rest easy Eamon, you gave so much of yourself to athletics in your life. I hope your family are able too take comfort from all that you did and from the wonderful memory left behind.

Very sorry to hear of Eamon's passing. Fond memories of travelling around Ireland with Eamon attending athletics meetings in the 1980s. His drive, passion, technical knowledge and energy for sport was ahead of its time and shaped many lives.

My dear friend Eamon, so sorry to hear you have left us and I recall all the good times we spent together as part of Para Athletics and Paralympics Ireland teams at training camps and as part of Paralympic teams.
I always appreciated your friendship and sharing accommodation on some occasions.
I always knew when you were going to say something funny or mischievous in group conversations as you always had a twinkle in your eyes.
If you are driving up there Eamon, make sure you drive on the correct side of the road.
