I got to know Eamon when we were both Physics students at UCD, 1959 – 1963. He then joined the Meteorological Service, and I joined a religious Order. That didn't stop us from meeting on and off over the decades. He was from first to last a loyal and good friend, kind and always a joy to meet. May he rest in Peace. Such a great loss to you, Wyn, and to Nora, Proinsias and all of Eamon's extended family and friends. My sincere sympathies and prayers.
