Condolences to Eamon's family on his sad passing. Fond memories of him visiting us over the years wth Jean. If i was going hurling training with Turloughmore Eamon was coming too. RIP Eamon a gentleman.
Sorry to hear about Eamon may he rest in peace 🙏.
Deepest sympathies to Yvonne, Debra, Kevin, Ian and all Eamon's extended family on your loss. I'm sorry I couldn't attend your dad's funeral.
Growing up, I heard so much about Eamon's exploits on & off the field in Avoca and London from my dad Paddy. My earliest GAA memory is celebrating Wicklow's 1971 All Ireland win with him after the 2nd replay in Croke Park.
We met more frequently after Eamon & Jean moved back to Wicklow. It was always a pleasure to spend time with him, I loved his recollections of hurling with Avoca, Brothers Pearse, London & Wicklow and he inspired me to become a referee almost 30 years ago.
Eamon will be fondly remembered our family as a hurling legend, a kind and decent man and a great friend.

Rest in Peace Eamonn,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Eamon. He was a lovely gentleman and we had many memorable chats when he used to come to mass in Avoca every Sunday.
When I was young my father used to tell us about the sporting legend that was Eamon Murray, and how he was among the many who missed Eamon terribly when he emigrated to England. But I remember my father coming home one evening, it must have been in the late 70s, and being over the moon that Eamon was back, he had come home for good! Rest in peace Eamon, you were much loved and will be sadly missed. Deepest sympathy to all your family.

I first met Eamon in 1956 when he and my sister Jean were courting. I couldn't understand most of what he said at first, but things became easier as time went on (although I still needed the occasional prompt from Jean!).
In the early years I spent a lot of time with Eamon, accompanying him to hurling training at the Scrubs and to GAA matches at Eltham.
He took me to my first football match, kindling my enthusiasm for the game and taught me so much besides. In the years after, he got me work, was my best man, and a good friend.
It wasn't until my own later years that I realised how much he had influenced the person that I became.
I never heard Eamon say a bad word about anyone, he was a kind, gentle and lovely man who saw the good in everybody.
He'll be sadly missed by the people who knew and loved him.
