I was very sorry to hear of Éamonn's passing. Great memories of sharing the stage with him in Galway and being mentored as a young actor by him. In the years that followed, I always enjoyed meeting him for a drink in Galway or Dublin where he would impart sage advice on acting and share stories of his experience as an army officer in the Defence Forces. My sincere condolences to Éamonn's family and friends. Eternal light of heaven to Éamonn. May he rest in peace.
— Comdt. Brian Clancy

I was sad to come across this news last night. Eamonn was a part of Galway life for a long time. We had many the laugh and encounters over the years, and I shall always remember him as a friendly face, and a man always ready for an intelligent and interesting chat.

I recall meeting Eamon over 20 years ago in a social setting in Dublin when in the company of another army ‘great’ Peter Archbold, also since left us. What a remarkably affable, good humoured and quit witted gentleman Eamon was …he was both interesting and interested. The evening passed all too quickly!
My sincere condolences to his dear family and his many friends from two careers .

Deepest condolences to the Draper family. As a student in UCG in the 90s I remember Eamonn offered many words of encouragement and advice to Dramsoc members and adjudicated some of our competitions including the ISDA festival. May he rest in peace.
— Mark Stafford
Eamonn’s time in ATC was short but his love of drama was infectious. A theatre group was formed and Lawrence of Arabia was prepared as were the many sets required for the production. Eamonn was producer, designer, chief of everything and lead actor. He was in his element doing this, roles which came naturally to him. Rehearsals were thorough but also fun. “El Aurens” was taken on tour, starting in Fr Matthew Hall . The pleasure for the group was winning the cup in Limerick. The effort put in by the group was rewarded and Eamonn was estatic.
A gentleman and fun to be around.
Rest in Peace A Chara

Comhbhrón le Muintir Draper ag am seo an bhróin ar imeacht Éamoinn uaibh. Bhí sé de phribhléid agam Éamonn a fheiscint ar éagsúlacht stáitsí - i gCorcaigh, i mBleá Cliath agus go minic ar stáitse na Taibhdheirce. Ach is mó ar fad aithne a chuireas air nuair a ghéill sé agus lig cead dom é a stiúradh ar cúpla sraith cartúin a craoladh ar TG4. Bhí glór ar chaighdeán Richard Burton aige agus teacht i láthair mar an gcéanna. Ainneoin go raibh a shaol sa Gaillimh, is i gCorcaigh a bhí a chroí. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam.
— Páidí Ó Lionáird
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat,
Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl,
Go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d’aghaidh,
Go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna,
Agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís,
Go gcoinní Dia i mbos A láimhe thú.

Sincerest sympathies on the passing of Eamonn to his dear family , he was a true gentleman and we always enjoyed his company either in the Bunch of Grapes in Galway or other surroundings in Quay Street. His amazing readings in the Augie Church were special and full attention given to every detail of wording and diction which left a lasting memory for the people at Mass on the particular day. We offer our sincere condolences to the extended Draper family in his beloved Cork. Éamonn was an accomplished actor and proud former Officer of the Defence Forces. He had a huge personality that would light up any room, always dapper and a keen conversationalist. He was the epitome of the Officer and Gentleman with a little 007 dazzle thrown in for good measure. He was a good friend to us both and will be dearly missed. May he rest in Peace.

So, so sad to hear of Éamonn’s death. I knew him from my connection with the Augustinians in Galway. I loved when he would do a reading or his regular and dependable Prayers of the Faithful. His clear diction and resonant voice I still hear in my head. We also had great fun during our pageants and plays, his contribution being so professional and mine so amateur, we learned so much from him. An awful loss for you his family but how wonderful that he was with you in his last days. Solas na bhflaitheas do agus i líonta Dé go gcastar sinn arís.
