Eamonn was one of a kind, a great and loyal friend to so many. I have lovely memories hunting alongside Eamonn and Rita for many years and many a lovely evening at his famous parties where everyone was made to feel so welcome. A perfect host and a true gent. You will be very sadly missed by so many.

So sorry to hear of Eamonn’s passing, my deepest condolences to Rita and all his family. I knew him through riding club events, which he was so generous in sponsoring and so giving of his time, and encouraging to all.

Very sorry to hear this. The Holmes family were our neighbours in Coolnevaun; as children, he was a constant in our home with my brother Michael. RIP. Sincere condolences to his extended family.

Just heard this sad news today. Eamonn and I were the best of friends growing up in Coolnevaun, Kilmacud. Once I left Ireland to study for the priesthood we lost contact. I send my sincere condolences to all his family, and tomorrow I will offer up my daily Mass for his eternal rest.

My deepest sympathy to Rita and all of the Holmes family. Eamonn was so kind to me when I came back to hunting. He always warned me what jump was coming up, and advised me how to take it. A true gentleman who will be greatly missed.

We are so sorry and saddened to hear the news of Eamon. A most terrible time for you, there are few words that can help. Thankfully you have your lovely family and faithful friends to help you through this time. Eamon was truly a shining star and everyone looked up to him. A helper, a doer, a giver, a big heart, a calm influence and a rascalish sense of humour. Only ever heard him raid his voice once and that was to Jesse in the driver seat of the jeep beeping the horn! An all round good man, right up there with the best. He was so proud of you Rita. Keep the good memories close in your thoughts. We will miss him. Thinking of you and your family.

I remember Eamonn from way back, the childhood Coolnevaun days when he was the leader of our games on the green. He later built my parents’ house on the Old Long Hill (Ted and Anne Crowley). My sincere condolences to all the Holmes family.
