I worked alongside Eamonn on the building sites for ten years. "Get out of the way he used to say" in jest.
Being away from home and homesick he my day happier. He was such a gentleman a great worker a man who made work a happy place to be. He brought his two sons Mark and Shane and sometimes Dennis with him.
They all were great workers and great friends of mine.
Eamonn loved Inniskeen and Monaghan Gaa football.
He told me when he retired from Inniskeen football he was going to take it easy some time later he got restless and signed with Dowdallshill Gaa club and finished his career there. Such a gentleman and friend. The world is a poorer place without him.
May he rest in peace and may God comfort you all at this time as you live in his happy memories.

Sincere condolences to Marie, Fiona and all the Mc Kenna family on the passing of Eammon. I have very fond memories of the times in 1996 and 2000 of having the pleasure of staying at your house while on temporary transfer to the border. Both yourself and Eammon went above and beyond to make us welcome in yer home. I remember Eammon as a hard working, easy going, sociable man. I also have a great memory of being there at Christmas time and ye invited me to have Christmas dinner with the family, the day started out with us going to morning mass and then to the Wee House for a drink, before a family Christmas dinner back at the house. Eammon may you Rest in peace, there's an awful lot of tiling to be done in heaven.
