I first met Eamonn when I was a young full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in July 1983. He was the branch president of the Terenure Branch. He took an interest in me and made sure all was well for this new green missionary from the states. When he learned of my Irish heritage the bond grew stronger. He invited me to his home, introduced me to the family, and took time on each visit to educate me a bit more on my Irish history and heritage, as well as the language.

No visit to Ireland was complete without a stop to see my good friend Eamonn. I included my own children in those visits.

When I made the movie "Devil's Men," there was a character who was Irish. I called Eamonn and he was all too happy to teach the actor how to have a proper Irish accent when he delivered the lines. Eamonn was able to be a part of the team that helped it to win awards at film festivals.

Eamonn had a strong testimony of the reality of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation. He spoke with certainty that he knew Jesus is his Savior and Redeemer. He knew that this life is only a small part of the eternities and that we are all able to be together with our loved ones in God presence in the next life. He is there now, preparing a place for his family who he loved dearly and spoke of often whenever we were together.

They are in heaven together catching up and watching over us all. Dad was so proud of his friend Eamonn's role in the Fianna Fáil 1916 commemoration at Arbour Hill, cherished memories.

I was so glad we met two summers ago in Whites hotel in Wexford where he treated me to dinner and was very open about his deteriorating health. He was a great influence my wife Eithne and me. He set us on the right track by marrying us when he was Branch President in Terenure Dublin. Hugh admiration and respect for this great man. He will be sadly missed and celebrated in the next life. May he rest in peace.

He taught me the words of our National Anthem in Irish and I always sing it with pride. Families are forever and you will see him again. I'm so grateful I knew Eamonn.
I'm so grateful I got to Ireland to see him and Linda last year!
I remember them standing at the door as we were leaving. I thought that would be the last time I saw them, but I didn't expect it would be this soon.
He had a strong personality.
He accomplished so many great things in his life! I will always cherish the painting of his that he sent me.
I remember sending a message to him on Facebook a few years ago and next thing I knew he was calling on the phone. It was so natural to talk to him.
As far as I can tell, he remained faithful to Jesus Christ to the end.
I'm so grateful for the many memories I have of your family!

We were so shocked to get the news of Eamonns death. Linda was our beloved childminder and friend in Dublin for many years. Eamonn had a beautiful baritone voice and sang the lead part of Herod in an Easter cantata l taught many years ago. RIP Eamonn, sending our love and deepest condolences
