I was heartily sorry to hear on the radio about Your beautiful Mother, Sarah, Evana and of course, Kevin. I was your Montessori Directress, Sarah and Evana, Miss Philippa. When your mum would come to collect you after school, she was a total breath of fresh air. She, undoubtedly had her own unique warmth, radiance and style and was deeply interested in your classroom activities. The odd time, as I was checking our classroom materials after school, Your Mum would move around the classroom with me, as we chatted about our everyday newsy experiences.
I know and appreciate, you may not believe this but I had put a couple of photos of you both in an envelope and with this pandemic, alas never posted. Will write to you. Philippa

I spent some memorable days with Eavan when we were making a radio documentary in the winter of 1995 and Jan 1996 - A Woman's Voice - she was profoundly generous with her time and patience and she had a deep impact on a young woman who was still emerging into her authentic self. Her poetry stays with us, and her influence on a generation has deep ripples across the world.
'Our future will become the past of other women' - she shaped the future not just of her daughters and granddaughters but of all of us. Thank you Eavan, and deepest sympathy to her family, to Sarah and Eavan and her husband Kevin Casey.

So sorry to hear of Eavan's death. She was an inspiration and a practical help to women writers in the eighties - as much a monument to her as her incisive poetry.

Sincere sympathy to Eavan's family on your very sad loss. I was so struck by Eavan's powerful and trailblazing poetry. I am so glad that we invited her to Drogheda to read her poetry. I remember her reading upstairs in The Horse and Hound. She spoke fondly about her and her mother's memories of Drogheda and Clogherhead. It was a great night. May she rest in peace along with the great poets.

We are heartbroken that we cannot give you these condolences in person during this Covid 19 virus pandemic.

We take consolation from the fact that we have over many years shared the joy of our precious grandchildren with Eavan and Kevin. We know that these precious grandchildren will be a continued source of joy to Kevin despite his very sad loss.

I was so very sorry to hear of the death of Eavan Boland. I met her many years ago as a young librarian at Dundrum Library, where she was so generous with her time and poetry. I will remember her as an "ordinary" woman and an amazing poet. My sincere sympathies to the family.
