I have many a fine and fond memory of my brother Eddie and I.

From when we're were young collecting turf from the bog with the pony to burn on our fire, to the love and care he gave to mummy and daddy when he took care of them in their later years.

To Ita and family my deepest sympathy and love goes out to you at this sad time. The care you all gave to him was wonderful.

Eddie we have always admired as a kind neighbour, exemplary father and loving husband. His loss to his family and the community is inestimable. He belonged to a unique generation who knew the secret of the land and the rhythm and song of the seasons. In quiet understated ways he resonated with the teachings of John O'Donohue and other wise prophets. Always loved his mien and generous spirit. Michael Stenson, my former colleague in Justice, describes him well as would Brendan Kennelly in The Good. Sincere condolences to my good friend Ita, Maria, Aidan, Raymond, Eamon and extended family Eddie loved terribly much.
