I was so heart-broken to hear of Eddie's passing from a colleague. I worked with Eddie at Parnell Adult Learning Centre from 2007 to his retirement. He was greatly missed by colleagues and students alike. I feel priviledged to have known Eddie. He was more than a colleague, but a trusted friend. We bonded over our love of all things metaphysical. He spoke about his studies in Applied Spirituality at the Milltown Institute. I have fond memories of Eddie practicing his ballroom steps up and down the corridor in Parnell. He brought such a positive energy to our centre. He also was an adventurer and reached base camp and possibly further at Mount Everest. He lived every day as if it was a new life.
He loved his family and he spoke so lovingly about them, his mother and his son David. I was blessed to have the last memory of meeting Eddie in O'Connell Street before lockdown. I started crying when I saw him and he gave me a big bear hug and told me that everything would be all right, and it was and it is. Thank you Eddie for that last final memory. I know you are still with us, and I look forward to seeing you at the gates when it is my time to walk through.
Deepest sympathy David and the extended Gannon family on the death of your Dad Eddie. May he rest in peace.
Eddie was a gentleman - may he rest in peace. Deepest sympathy to his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Condolences to Eddie's family. He was our head porter in No 1 Parnell Square (VEC) for many years. Our late Principal Pat Coughlan and I always found him a reliable & dedicated worker. RIP
So sorry to hear of Eddie’s passing. I worked with him in Parnell Adult Learning Centre for many years. As head porter he was a welcoming face for staff, students and visitors. Always helpful and totally dedicated to the running of the Centre. We had many laughs and there are so many good memories. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family and friends.
