He said it as it was and was never afraid to question. He was so witty and funny but at the same time so diligent and conscientious in his work. Like all of Eddie’s HSE colleagues, I was blessed to know and work with him on many projects. He was a breath of fresh air in good and stressful times bringing with him his brilliant mind, authenticity, kindness and craic. His passing reminds me of his daily “white smoke” quips during the papal conclave in 2005 (when we were working on a busy project in Mullingar); he was a constant reminder of the important things in life. He was so generous with his time, knowledge and friendship, an absolute gem of a person. May Eddie rest easy and may his wonderful spirit continue to live on in you all.

I am so very sorry to hear of Eddie’s passing. The world is a darker place without him. It was an honour to have known Eddie. He lightened the day anytime you met him. Eddie was such a gentleman I remember him coming into Super Valu regularly and he always had a laugh very sad to hear this may he rest in peace condolences to his family and friends.

He was one of the best wheather it was in his job at school meetings and especially on the pitch great memories were had and the banter was second to none. He was a gentleman and always had words of encouragement and wisdom.

Bernie, Nathan, Dean & extended Family. It was with great sadness we heard of Eddies passing . Many Saturdays were spent on the sideline with Eddie cheering on the lads & enjoying the craic. Eddie was full of talk & laughter. We went on to meet in Super Valu & chat for ages until we both had forgotten what we came in for. The one thing he never forgot was the biscuits.
