Growing up with Eddie in the busy and lively village of Moyvane in the 50s and 60s he endeared himself to all.
Always friendly, good humoured and well respected he was a pillar of the local community.
Eddie was not only a successful business man but he was also an accomplished goalkeeper and one of the stars of the great Glin football
team of the late 50s and the Moyvane team of the 60s.

We were very sorry to hear that Eddie had passed away while we were on holidays. As a result we very unable to attend the funeral. It was always a pleasure to meet Eddie and have a chat with him .He will be missed in Moyvane. Sincere sympathy to Julia, Noel and Mary, Mary and Neily, Eamon and Margaret and to the extended family. Grand uncle Eddie was a gentleman and always had a great wish for everyone. We have such lovely memories of visiting Newtown/ Moyvane as children and later as adults. There was always a warm welcome from Eddie and Julia and all the family. Tea and plenty tasty treats were always enjoyed by us all.
Sport and family were often the topics of conversation. They were so proud of their family and grandchildren. They always loved to hear all the news from the extended O' Shaughnessy, Stack and Ryan families. It was lovely to meet up with and catch up with the family at Eddie's funeral. It was a celebration of his great life in many respects.
He will be missed by us all.
May Eddie rest in heavenly peace.
