Our deepest sympathies to all the family. Eddie will be sorely missed.

Eddie reminded me of Gerard Manley Hopkin's description "big-boned and hardy-handsome" for he was a strong man who like many of his generation went to work on building sites in England before returning to Ireland. He had no illusions about the Ireland he grew up in the "Hungry Fifties" and his qualities of honesty, hard work and straight talking he and his wife Bridie passed onto his family, to which we extend our sympathies.

They as will we will miss Eddie for they were a tight crew doing things as a family and going on holidays together. We were delighted when Eddie and Bridie visited us in West Cork and as Eddie was a great GAA man and President of Edenderry GAA we brought him to see Sam Maguire's resting place at St. Mary's Churchyard and his restored family home at Malabracca outside Dunmanway.

Eddie will be greatly missed by many but he leaves a large footprint of love behind.
May his memory be a blessing. #RIP
