I learn of Eddie’s death with great sadness and extend sympathy to his family. I was born almost directly opposite in New St and the McGuinness family were an integral part of that wonderful street community in the ‘50’s and 60’s. Although now close to 50yrs since I last met Eddie the fact that he bought me to my first ‘soccer’ match, and bought me my first drink in a Cork pub, makes him part of my life story and adds to the sadness I feel at his passing.
