I wish to express my sincere sympathies to Eddie's wife Yvonne and daughter Amelie, and in a special way to express my heartfelt condolences to Eddie's parents John and Marie, and to Eddie's brothers, Brian, John and Robert.
Eddie was a star in a very fine CY side, but even though he enjoyed great success on the field of play, he was first and foremost a great club member who had time for everyone at the club.
I am very saddened to learn of Eddie's sudden passing, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

Eddie was my introduction to cricket at Wesley. So kind and patient on off the pitch and we're all very saddened by his untimely passing. My deep condolences to his family.

I was so saddened to hear of Eddie's passing at such a young age and my deepest condolences to John Sr , Marie, John, Brian, and Rob. I have very fond memories playing cricket with Eddie at CYM. He was a very fine fast bowler and even a better person, one of the truly good guys that was always so happy go lucky. We had a lot of fun playing cricket at CYM and Eddie with his great sense of humor was a big part of it. He will be missed.

So sad and sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. I had the privilege of working with Eddie in Aviva Cork and he was such a genuine, kind and lovely guy who always brightened up our days.

We are incredibly sad about Eddie’s passing. He was a terrific guy. We had many animated chats about the state of Irish rugby at the school and other school events. So mannerly and engaged, and always made such an effort with all other parents and always had a smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was a super character and a great and dedicated father. Everyone spoke so well despite such sadness at the funeral, but he will have been so proud of Amelie in particular - such a talented singer, and the maturity and strength of character she showed were such a credit to Eddie and Yvonne. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Marie, John, Yvonne, Amelie and the extended family. I knew Eddie from a young age when he played at underage level and became friends with my son Ciaran. Eddie was a joy to watch as a bowler and thoroughly deserved all the honours he received through cricket. He was also very entertaining off the pitch with his impressions of sports people, both players and commentators, from all sports.
