I grew up in Rathcormac and knew all the O' Brien family very well. Eddie was a great character and enjoyed his sport to the full. He never forgot that he was a Cork man and followed Cork and Bride Rovers with a passion. May he now rest in the peace and joy of the Risen Lord and with all his loved ones gone before him.

Dear Wesley and Trevor,
It’s with deep sadness that I write this message of sympathy to you both and to the extended Reddan and O’Brien Clan. You know I worked with your dear Dad, Eddie, for many, happy years in Killaloe Boys’ NS. I learnt more from Eddie than I will ever teach, the respect he had for every child who he knew by name and the love he earned from both staff and generations of our boys was inspirational. He was great fun and good company always, our staff nights out will be talked about forever, Eddie was at the root of the best laughs. We all loved and respected him dearly. It’s a hard blow to be left as orphans in a short number of weeks but Eddie has now returned to Mary and will wave that Cork flag to meet and greet those who follow to an eternal resting home. May he be in full view of his own lovely Lee.
