Such a character - with his decency, good humour and sense of mischief - I always felt better after meeting him. He never saw me stuck for an All-Ireland ticket either!!

Eddie truly was one of life’s good guys. And although he had his allegiance when it came to sports and politics, as with all aspects of his life he had time and space for everyone. Like all Limerick people he was delighted with the recent hurling success on the playing fields, and happy that the future is bright. Of course he was the best of company and great craic. How apt that along with being buried with his parents, he is laid to rest beside his great friend of old Mikey Croker.
