As a past student I remember his love for the Irish language and his love of an Irish culture that has now all but disappeared. He certainly left an impression on me and many many of his students.

Deepest condolences to Eddy’s family on his recent passing. It’s probably 30 years since I last chatted with Eddy and I was deeply saddened to hear the news. My earliest memory of Eddy was as a juvenile coach in the 1980’s at our then hurling club, Parnells (Leighlin & Old Leighlin). He was one of a number of coaches and mentors who played such an influential part in a lot of our lives as we grew up and instilled in us a love of sport and in particular hurling. It was a time of great adventure with many memorable victories from under 12 to under 21. We’re not all perfect and I’m sure St Peter will give Eddy a tough interview at the pearly gates. May Eddy now rest in peace.
