So saddened by the loss of our wonderful friend. I have so many great memories of time spent together over the years. She was such a kind and gentle soul and had a special place in our hearts. My deepest sympathy to you Zoldy, Vito and Orla. My thoughts are with you at this incredibly sad and difficult time.

Edel, I was delighted and inspired meeting you this past year. Your compassionate intelligence projected out of you without even saying a word. I still remember our first real conversation, your richness in listening and your delicate sincerity and understanding put me in a lovely mood, smiling and calm. Thank you for your beautiful contribution to this life, which no doubt will continue. My heartfelt sympathy to all your family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

So shocked at this very sad news. We had a friendship that spanned 6 decades, I can’t remember a time when Edel was not part of my life. Sleep well my very special friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this most difficult of times.

I'm so sorry to learn of Edel's death. We used to travel to Monesterevin every week to chat with refugees and asylum seekers. She always spoke so lovingly and proudly of Zoldy and Vito. A wonderful woman - decent, kind and great company. A huge loss to the world and her family. My sincere condolences.
