I have only just heard that Shirley had passed away. She was a great friend of my late father Philip. She was a gentle soul and a lovely person. May she rest in peace. Sincere condolences to her family.

Shirley and Saidhbhin were so generous in giving us trees to plant on our farm. We are going to continue their great work and plant a tree in her memory.

We have known Shirley as far back as our children’s primary school years in Celbridge.
A lovely gentle person who we will sadly miss at our parish gatherings. And her lovely nature drawings.
Our sincere sympathy to all her family. Rest in Peace Shirley.

I met Shirley at an art class in Punchestown a few years ago. She was a lovely lady, I really enjoyed meeting her there, and hoped our paths would cross again. With deepest sympathy to all her family on your loss.

Dear Saidhbhín, Samuel, Weizi and Sorcha, I'm so sorry you have lost Shirley. She was kind and considerate and thought of others, including me. I have been thinking of you all and Shirley since the deaths of Louise and your aunt last year, and all the more since Shirley's diagnosis before I left Celbridge, and Shirley and I have exchanged a couple of e-mails since I left. I still have the little leaving card, made by Shirley, from her and June Galligan, on my bookcase. God bless her. She is in peace now. I shall continue to remember you in my prayers, and I'm sorry not to be at the funeral tomorrow. It's late on Saturday night; Bernie Murphy telephoned me with the news a few hours ago.
