A good friend and mentor to me at Leinster - his uncommon decency and respect for the players was to the fore, along with an inherent empathy with the management team; it was easy to understand why he had been so successful with his beloved Terenure.
Entirely fitting too that he lived to see TCRFC reach the summit, and Leinster and Ireland achieve what they have - his was a major contribution to the success of all three.

When I walked in the door of Bank of Ireland in 1984 to work with Eddie I was met with a beaming smile on a larger than life character.
I had the pleasure of working with Eddie on and off over a number of years and after every meeting (generally 50% rugby / 50% work) I always left the room with a smile on my face.
