Terribly sad news. A very genuine person. As a young kid who had lost his Dad, it was a tiny physical walk for me from Father Russell Road across the road to ask if I could play football with him and the lads. It took me a few attempts to open the front door. On arriving, his response has stayed with me for more than 50 years. “There will always be a space for you”.
