Margaret, Deirdre, Jennifer, David and Kieran and families, I extend sincere sympathy at the passing of your beloved Eddie, who I first met in Ardnacrusha, January 1978. Eddie was a great mentor, one of life's gents who loved his family, music, Markets Field, Friday night card games, holidays to USA, Waterford. For decades, Eddie's beautifully hand written Christmas card indicated the season approaching. You were the light of his life Margaret and thank you for the hospitality at Killalee and Downey Avenue. RIP my friend

My friend since 1956 when he welcomed me to ESB Portlaoise and secured digs for me beside his own digs. He came to visit me in Waterford (my native city) and met my sister's best friend Margaret who became his loving wife, He used his charm upon the Waterford soccer people so well that they subsequently gave him an award. A gentle man in every sense of the word - he was one of a kind. Sleep well my old friend and may God be good to you.
